Celebrated UK chef Albert Roux will travel to Australia with Etihad Airways this April to host an elegant lunch and dinner series at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth.

Celebrated UK chef Albert Roux will travel to Australia with Etihad Airways this April to host an elegant lunch and dinner series at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth.

Roux will fly the fine food and wine flag for the two luxury brands at three exclusive events that will take place on Thursday April the 29th and Friday the 30th, 2010.

Simply titled Albert Roux presents…a gourmet experience with Sofitel and Etihad, the series will be held at the Sofitel’s conservatory-style Garden Court restaurant.

For many it may be a once in a lifetime chance to experience the world famous skills of one of Europe’s original ‘master chefs’.

At their special request, Albert Roux has been charged with creating a special menu for the delight of both local food lovers and visitors to Sydney, reflecting the high-flying flavour and quality associated with Etihad Airways and Sofitel Luxury Hotels.

Guests can choose between dates to enjoy the Roux dinner experience – one on Thursday the 29thand the other on Friday the 30th of April. One lunch time event is also available on the 29th of April.

Dinner is priced at $249 per person and includes a four-course menu, and the three-course lunch at $185 per person. All three options include a menu specially crafted and prepared by Albert Roux, with matching wines selected and provided by Moet Hennessy.

In Sydney Roux will be accompanied by his renown cuisine team Bruno Vallete (Roux’s Chef Partner) and Pastry Chef David Sourdrill who, along with Albert, will be flown from London by Etihad Airways specifically for the occasion.

They will be assisted by the Sofitel’s talented new Executive Chef, Andreas Donnerbauer at the hotel making for a distinctly European encounter for diners.

Albert Roux, OBE and Legion d’Honneur is one of the world’s best known and best loved chefs, famous for opening of Le Gavroche - Britain’s first ever Michelin-stared restaurant - in 1967 with his younger brother Michel.
