Less than two hours from Seoul by train, colourful Daegu is nestled in a natural basin, surrounded by cloud-capped mountains and green parkland. Daegu has a number of claims to fame. The third-largest city in South Korea and one of its most dynamic, Daegu is the home of Korean baseball and boasts thriving textile and machinery industries. Its natural and herbal medicine market is the largest in Asia. Daegu offers some delightfully different sights.
